CoreWeave alternatives in 2026: 6 GPU clouds compared

CoreWeave runs AI workloads at scale on a managed, Kubernetes-native platform, with new organizations approved through its sales team. Six alternatives compared, then when one dedicated server on monthly terms is the simpler route.

Choose OverGPU if…

  • You need one GPU or a few 8-GPU servers, not a cluster platform.
  • You want plain servers with root SSH access instead of managed Kubernetes.
  • You want a one-month minimum term and a server delivered in under 10 minutes after payment.
  • You want to pay in crypto from a prepaid balance, with a top-up bonus.

Choose CoreWeave if…

  • You are building large multi-node or rack-scale clusters, up to GB300 NVL72.
  • You want managed Kubernetes (CKS) and Slurm (SUNK) with managed storage.
  • You are ready to arrange reserved capacity with an account team.

A CoreWeave alternative is worth considering when you need dedicated GPUs but not a full AI cloud platform. CoreWeave serves AI labs and enterprises with managed Kubernetes running directly on bare-metal nodes, and new organizations are approved and invited by its sales team. If what you need is one GPU, or a few 8-GPU servers, on terms you can renew month by month, a plain dedicated server may be the better match. This comparison reflects both offers as of October 2026.

Why teams look for a CoreWeave alternative

CoreWeave is built for organizations that run AI at scale, and its model reflects that. You work through CoreWeave Kubernetes Service (CKS), with SUNK for Slurm-based scheduling on Kubernetes and managed storage alongside. Reserved capacity is set up commercially through an account executive and billed at a flat rate for every hour of the term, whether instances are running or idle. On-demand instances need no long-term commitment, but CoreWeave notes that they may not be available during peak demand.

Teams look elsewhere when that model is more than they need: a startup that wants a single H100 or H200 for inference, engineers who prefer SSH and Docker to Kubernetes manifests, or a buyer who wants the configuration and price in writing and the server delivered in under 10 minutes after payment, for a one-month commitment.

A managed platform or a plain server

The real difference is the unit you rent. On CoreWeave, GPU nodes are resources inside a managed cloud: you request capacity through Kubernetes or Slurm, attach services such as CoreWeave AI Object Storage or Distributed File Storage, and the platform schedules the work. That is a strength when many engineers share hundreds of GPUs and need queues, quotas and shared datasets.

With us, the unit is a server. An 8-GPU server is a bare-metal machine, such as 8× H200 with two Xeon 8480+ CPUs, 2 TB of DDR5 and 8× 3.84 TB NVMe; a single-GPU plan is a dedicated VM with the whole GPU passed through. You log in as root over SSH on Ubuntu with NVIDIA drivers, CUDA, Docker and the NVIDIA Container Toolkit preinstalled, and you choose your own tools. Private networking between your servers is available on request, and our 8-GPU servers page lists every configuration.

When CoreWeave is the better choice

  • You plan clusters of many nodes, or rack-scale GB300 NVL72 systems, and want them run as one managed platform.
  • Your team already works in Kubernetes or Slurm and wants CKS or SUNK rather than individual servers.
  • You need managed object and file storage next to the GPUs.
  • You are buying capacity at a scale where an account team and negotiated terms make sense.

Egress is not a reason to leave either: CoreWeave lists data transfer between its cloud and the internet as free.

What OverGPU offers, and what it does not

We rent whole GPUs to one customer at a time, from a single RTX 5090 to 8× B300 and AMD Instinct MI355X servers, with GB300 NVL72 racks on request. Prices are flat and published on our pricing page, billed monthly in advance with no setup fee. The minimum term is one month and you can cancel any month with no fee; once you have an active server, you can ask by ticket for volume and term pricing for 6 to 12 months or several servers. Bandwidth is included with no egress fees, 20 TB per month on single-GPU servers and 50 TB on 8-GPU servers, under fair use. We commit to 99.9% monthly availability with service credits under our SLA, engineers answer 24/7, and you pay from a prepaid balance topped up in crypto (BTC, ETH, XMR, USDT on TRON or SOL), with a top-up bonus of up to 50%; card payments are coming soon.

We do not run a managed Kubernetes or Slurm platform, object storage, autoscaling, serverless endpoints, spot capacity or per-second billing. You deploy a server in one form: choose a configuration, create a free account or log in, and pay the first month from your balance. The server is delivered in under 10 minutes after payment.

Moving a workload from CoreWeave

Container images move as they are: pull them with Docker on the new server, as described in our Docker guide. Kubernetes manifests become Docker Compose files or systemd units, or you can install the orchestration you prefer with root access. CoreWeave lists internet data transfer as free and inbound traffic is not counted on our side, so copying datasets and checkpoints mostly costs time. Size the target GPU with the VRAM calculator before you order.

Frequently asked questions

Is OverGPU a CoreWeave alternative for smaller teams?

Yes, if you need one GPU or a few 8-GPU servers rather than a managed cluster platform. You get whole dedicated GPUs with root SSH access, a flat monthly price and a one-month minimum term.

Does OverGPU offer managed Kubernetes or Slurm?

No. You get root access to dedicated servers with Docker and the NVIDIA Container Toolkit preinstalled, and you can install the tools you prefer. If you need a managed Kubernetes or Slurm platform, CoreWeave is designed for that.

What is the minimum commitment at OverGPU?

One month. Plans renew monthly from your balance, with an email reminder before each renewal, and you can cancel any month with no fee. Once you have an active server, you can ask by ticket for pricing on 6 to 12-month terms or several servers.

Are OverGPU GPUs shared with other customers?

No. Each GPU is a whole physical GPU assigned to one customer: 8-GPU servers are bare metal, and single-GPU plans are a dedicated VM with the full GPU passed through, with no vGPU, MIG or time-sharing.

How fast is an OverGPU server delivered?

In under 10 minutes after payment.

Dedicated GPUs, billed monthly

Whole GPUs from $449/mo, root access, bandwidth included. Pay with crypto.
