## Choose OverGPU if…

- You want a dedicated server on a monthly term, renewed or cancelled month by month.
- You want to pay in crypto from a prepaid balance, with a top-up bonus of up to 50%.
- You want a server delivered in under 10 minutes after payment.
- You want B300 or AMD Instinct MI355X servers on a one-month term.

## Choose Lambda if…

- You want self-serve instances you launch and terminate yourself, billed by the minute.
- You need a multi-node B200 or H100 cluster for a fixed period of weeks to a year.
- You plan a large, long-term deployment of GB300 NVL72 or Vera Rubin NVL72 systems.

## Overview

Teams searching for a Lambda alternative usually want different terms rather than different GPUs: a server they keep for the month instead of an instance they launch and terminate, a way to pay other than a credit card, or a server delivered in under 10 minutes after payment when capacity is tight. Lambda offers self-serve instances billed by the minute, 1-Click Clusters reserved from two weeks to a year, and Superclusters arranged with its team. This page compares that model with dedicated monthly servers, as of October 2026.

## Why teams look for a Lambda Labs alternative

- **Payment.** Lambda's billing documentation says it only accepts major credit cards, and lists prepaid and debit cards among common reasons for declined payments. Teams that need to pay in crypto have to look elsewhere.
- **Instance lifecycle.** On-demand instances can be launched, restarted or terminated, but not stopped, so billing runs until you terminate. Persistent filesystems are billed for as long as they exist.
- **Capacity.** Self-serve access is first come, first served, not every instance type is available in every region, and new accounts have a limit on the number of instances they can launch. With GPU capacity tight across the market in 2026, delivery in under 10 minutes after payment has real value.
- **Cluster terms.** Lambda's documentation notes that a 1-Click Cluster reservation cannot currently be extended or renewed, so a workload that outlives its term needs a new reservation.

## OverGPU vs Lambda at a glance

| Criterion | OverGPU | Lambda |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Billing model | Flat monthly price per server, billed in advance; per-GPU-hour equivalent published | Instances priced per GPU-hour and billed in one-minute increments, invoiced weekly; 1-Click Clusters billed weekly under the reservation |
| Minimum commitment | One month; cancel any month with no fee | None for instances; 1-Click Clusters from 2 weeks to 1 year; longer reservations through sales |
| Hardware tenancy | Whole physical GPUs for one customer: bare-metal 8-GPU servers or a dedicated VM with the full GPU passed through; no vGPU, MIG or time-sharing | Virtual machines with whole GPUs, in 1x, 2x, 4x or 8x sizes |
| GPU lineup focus | B300, B200, H200, H100, MI355X, RTX PRO 6000, L40S and RTX 5090; GB300 NVL72 on request | Instances: B200, H100, GH200, A100, A10, A6000, V100 and Quadro RTX 6000; clusters: HGX B200 and H100; Superclusters: Vera Rubin NVL72, GB300 NVL72 and HGX B300 |
| Data transfer and egress | 20 TB/month (single-GPU) or 50 TB/month (8-GPU) included, no egress fees, fair use; inbound not counted | No ingress or egress fees |
| Payment methods | Crypto (BTC, ETH, XMR, USDT TRC-20, SOL) via a prepaid USD balance, with a top-up bonus of up to 50%; card payments coming soon | Major credit cards; 1-Click Cluster reservations invoiced by email |
| Support | 24/7 engineers; 99.9% monthly availability SLA with service credits | Support tickets, a community forum and documentation; 24/7 expert support listed for Superclusters |
| Best for | Steady workloads that run most of the month: inference, long training and fine-tuning runs | Self-serve instances by the minute, fixed-term cluster reservations and very large long-term deployments |

Lambda details come from its public website and documentation in October 2026 and can change, so check their current terms before you decide.

## Instances, clusters and Superclusters

Lambda's offer has three tiers. Instances are self-serve virtual machines with one to eight whole GPUs, billed by the minute while they exist. 1-Click Clusters group H100 or B200 nodes into a cluster reserved for a fixed period. Superclusters are large deployments of systems such as GB300 NVL72 and Vera Rubin NVL72, arranged with Lambda's team.

An OverGPU server sits between the first two. It is not launched by the minute, and it is not a reservation with a fixed end date: it is a dedicated machine, or a dedicated VM with a whole GPU, that renews every month until you cancel. That suits workloads with no natural end date, such as inference endpoints, continuous fine-tuning and internal model platforms. For multi-server setups, you can ask for [private networking](https://overgpu.com/products/private-networking) between your servers in the order notes, and customers with an active server can ask for term pricing for several servers by ticket.

## When Lambda is the better choice

- You want to launch and terminate GPU instances yourself, from the web or the Lambda Cloud API, and pay by the minute.
- You need a multi-node B200 or H100 cluster for a defined number of weeks.
- You are planning a long-term deployment of GB300 NVL72 or Vera Rubin NVL72 systems at large scale.
- You pay by credit card and prefer usage billing to a monthly term.

## What OverGPU offers, and what it does not

We rent whole GPUs on monthly terms: single-GPU plans from RTX 5090 to B300, and 8-GPU servers with HGX H100, H200, B200 or B300, AMD Instinct MI355X or RTX PRO 6000. Prices are flat and published on our [pricing page](https://overgpu.com/pricing), billed monthly in advance with no setup fee, and you can cancel any month with no fee. You pay from a prepaid balance in US dollars that you top up in crypto: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Monero (XMR), Tether USDT on TRON (TRC-20) or Solana (SOL). Each top-up earns +5% bonus credit for every full $100, up to +50% from $1,000 (bonus credit is spent after paid credit and is not refundable), and card payments are coming soon; see [paying with crypto](https://overgpu.com/help/paying-with-crypto). Bandwidth is included with no egress fees up to 20 TB per month on single-GPU servers or 50 TB on 8-GPU servers, we commit to 99.9% monthly availability with service credits, and engineers answer 24/7.

We do not offer per-minute or per-second billing, serverless endpoints or spot capacity. Servers are rented by the month rather than launched on demand: you order one on the [deployment page](https://overgpu.com/deploy), where you choose a configuration, set up the OS image, optional preinstalled software and your login (root password or SSH key), create a free account or log in, and pay the first month from your balance. Root SSH access is delivered in under 10 minutes after payment, with the IP address, SSH details and data-center location in your dashboard.

## Moving a workload from Lambda

Moving is mostly a matter of rebuilding the environment. Our Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 images ship with NVIDIA drivers, CUDA, Docker and the NVIDIA Container Toolkit, so containerized jobs run as they are, and our [PyTorch and vLLM guide](https://overgpu.com/docs/pytorch-vllm) covers framework setup. Lambda does not charge for egress and inbound traffic is not counted on our side, so moving models and datasets costs transfer time rather than fees. Check memory needs with the [VRAM calculator](https://overgpu.com/tools/vram-calculator), and compare billing models in our [monthly vs hourly guide](https://overgpu.com/compare/monthly-vs-hourly-gpu-pricing).

## Frequently asked questions

### Is OverGPU a good Lambda alternative for long-running workloads?

Yes, when a workload runs most of the month and has no natural end date, such as inference or continuous fine-tuning. You pay one flat monthly price per server, and it renews monthly until you cancel.

### Can I pay for GPU servers with crypto?

Yes. You top up a prepaid balance in US dollars with Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Monero (XMR), USDT on TRON (TRC-20) or Solana (SOL), and every full $100 in one top-up adds 5% bonus credit, up to 50% from $1,000. Servers are paid from that balance, and card payments are coming soon.

### What is the minimum term at OverGPU?

One month. Renewals are paid automatically from your balance, with an email reminder before each one, and if you cancel from your dashboard, your server runs until the end of the paid month with no cancellation fee.

### When will my server be ready?

The server is delivered in under 10 minutes after payment.

### Can I run multi-GPU training on OverGPU?

Yes. Our NVIDIA HGX 8-GPU servers connect their GPUs with NVLink, and you can ask for private networking between several of your servers in the order notes. Customers with an active server can ask for term and volume pricing by ticket.
